Ira has gone to jazz heaven. He & Race are about to begin their evenings performance.

 

Ira was laid to rest on September 10, 2014 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery located in Boulder City, NV. His obituary apeared in the Review Journal & on their website on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in honor of our *Buffet Buddies" on their special  Young at Heart Buffet day.  In loving memory of Ira Temple Thomas, III who was born on Feb. 9, 1934 & Passed Sept. 4, 2014. He was the 1st son of Ira Thomas, Jr. and Inez Britt. He served 2 years in the Military. He is survived by his wife, Claudia, of 52 yrs, numerous family members & friends around the World. He was a member of the Vegas Jazz Society. For more info visit: www.ic2productions.mysite.com. His puzzles, songs he wrote, his beautiful baritone voice, his engineering skills his diy skills (which he learned after high school) will always be remembered. He made by hand a foot stool for me & my classical guitar using only dowls no nails. I shall treasure it always. He also made the plot plan for the location of units at his Condo of residence, La Mirage.  Rest in peace, my darling, Ira. Your loving wife since 1962. You will live on in my heart. Claudia Thomas

Ira Began his jazz crosswords in Madrid Spain back in the early 90's

He has a book of 10 puzzles with answers featuring various instruments

of the jazz genre which could act as a lesson in a jazz history class. I've
